2024 - My 3 words

Many of us create resolutions or goals at the start of every year.

For the last few years, my focus has been on establishing my 3 words of the year which I use to guide me for the entire year.

This year, 2024, my 3 words are:

  • Consistency

  • Determination

  • Impact

I'm starting 2024 off strong -  focusing on establishing foundational healthy habits with regards to my nutrition/ food, exercise and mindset and spiritual practice.

Unfortunately the last few years has taken it's toll on many of us (including myself) and it's time to get our nervous systems out of the fight and flight (sympathetic) and back into our rest and digest (parasympathetic).

This is when the body can heal it's self and get back to homeostasis (balance).

I have access to the most amazing tools in doTERRA Essential Oils and supplements, so I'm leaning on those as well as my Reiki practice and a chunk of determination to get my physical body to be as strong and healthy as it can be.

I'd love to hear what your goals are for this year- get in touch to share them with me!

How to get rid of mould in your home

Did you know bleach does not kill mould spores?

With many people across our beautiful country having their homes affected by floods and rain currently, there is a lot of help that is needed.

Firstly the emotional support from community and loved ones to deal with the trauma (this is really important).

Side note if anyone out there feels like they have no one to talk to or feels like giving up, I am always available for a chat so reach out.

Once the water has subsided, then it's time for the clean up task and this can feel really overwhelming. This requires a community effort - so reach out and ask for help from family, friends and neighbours.

My major concern is the long term health effects of mould.

First you need to really dry the house out properly.. this may actually mean removing/ throwing out all furnishing (especially soft furnishings) and possibly even the plaster board.
You may need to invest in some fan heaters and de-humidifiers. Get help from a professional building biologist!

To treat areas of your home (including bathrooms), Clove oil is one of the few things that can kill the spores. Here are some published journal articles showing it’s effectiveness:

The chemical composition and biological activity of clove essential oil, Eugenia caryophyllata

Antimicrobial activity of eugenol and essential oils containing eugenol

Here's what you can do:

* Put on PPE - gloves, goggles, proper masks

* Mix clove oil (20-30 drops) with white vinegar and or On Guard Cleaning Concentrate

* Spray and rub on all walls and surfaces & wipe down

* Throw out cloths after using each day

* Repeat daily for a week, then 1-2 times a week

* Diffuse Clove or On Guard Oils in your home (after home has fully dried out)

A few bottles of clove will go a long way and something so simple could be the difference between a healthy family or one that suffers from long term health issues from the mould.

Just remember - remember bleach does not kill mould spores, it actually just bleaches them.

If you need some info or want to get the best quality essential oils reach out to me.

It's important to have high quality oils as these have the best and highest levels of plant compounds that actually have anti fungal properties, this is why I only use dōTERRA!
